Some Electrical Safety Tips In The Workplace

The work environment can be stressful and sometimes overwhelming. Employers may sometimes be too caught-up in projects to notice the kinds of hazards that need attention. For this reason, employers should hire maintenance personnel to take care of problems that may result in accidents or injuries for employees.

Electrical safety is a very important in the work environment. Employees of offices, industrial plants, and construction zones all face electrical hazards every day on the job. Electricity is especially dangerous due to its sudden nature. Unlike fires, electricity will come out in a spark, shock, or arc and at an extremely fast rate.

Workers who have been injured in an electrical-related accident may be eligible to receive compensation. Families of workers who have died due to an accident may also be eligible to receive a portion of the amount of money that used to be earned by the worker. Employers must protect employees from exposure to electricity in order to prevent accidents like these from happening.

At times, employees speak to their employers about such hazards, but unfortunately some employers remain unresponsive. If an accident arises due to the employer's lack of response, an expert lawyer in workers' compensation and liability will be able to help.

    Safety Tips

The best electricity accident is the one that never happens. Here are a few tips to keeping you and fellow coworkers safe from an electrical accident:

-Heed warning signs: If you smell a bad odor coming from electrical outlets or areas, hear high-pitched noises or drones from areas, or if you notice electricity going on and off, consider hiring an electrician to take care of the problem.

-Keep electrical cords in good condition: Electrical cords can burn the area around the cord and cause a fire. Only purchase extension cords or surge protectors that have passed safety standards.

-Use GFCI (Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter) outlets in wet areas: These outlets are programmed to stop the flow of electricity if the sensor notices a spike in electrical output.

-Do not overload an outlet: People sometimes "daisy chain" surge protectors and test the strengths of a circuit breaker.

-Unplug unused appliances: Keep an electrical accident from happening whenever possible. Unplugging unused appliances also saves on electricity costs.

-Cover exposed wiring: Have an electrician cover any exposed wiring and make sure the unit itself is up to code.

    Thanks For The Lift

     WC Acc Lift
We are of course a real business with bills to pay and jobs to complete. But, we have the additional benefit that what we do for a living helps people. Most of the time when a vertical transportation device is purchased, it is with the intent to enable at least one individual who has issues with mobility.

Whether it’s a residential elevator, a stair lift, or a vertical platform lift (VPL), the moment it is turned on and used for the first time can be a new beginning for someone. We are very thankful to be part of that experience.

We also enjoy seeing others help others in need. Families often get together to provide a stair chair for an ailing family member; some of our customers have gone outside their families to help a friend; we assist homeowners who are struggling to find the best spot on their property for a VPL or elevator; we see businesses doing their best to accommodate handicapped customers; many times we find out that a “showpiece” custom elevator is being procured for the additional purpose of assisting a wheelchair-bound relative or friends when they visit.

As the economy continues to be “interesting” as things begin to mend, we are ready to meet this challenge with all of you. We at Inclinator Company of California are here to act in your best interest to ensure the safest, most practical solution possible for your need. We know that any one of us has the potential of needing assistance at some point in our lives, and that’s what motivates us to keep improving. We are grateful for our customers as well as for those who go out of their way to assist others.

    Maximizing Stair Storage

No matter how much storage a project has, customers can always use more. But remodelers need creativity to utilize the space under stairs.

It can be awkward to reach items in the narrower end of a closet in this location, so under-stair storage is almost always custom-built.

    Which Home Improvements Pay Off?

In the first year my husband and I lived in our house, we spent almost $20,000 on home improvements. When we set that money aside at the beginning of the year, we dreamed about granite counters and steam showers; what we ended up with was a new furnace, new gutters, a drainage system to keep the basement dry, new landscaping and lots of new paint. At the end of that year as I wiped down my tacky Formica countertops and bathed in my 1950s seafoam green tub, I wondered if we had spent that money wisely. If we had put our house up for sale, would potential buyers have really cared about the dry basement and reliable furnace?

Pebbled Paths - Examples of floor accents that add texture and detail

he owner wanted to feel pebbles underfoot while doing dishes, so the pattern starts out wide at the sink and matches the flow of the kitchen.

Quintana Wagoner and her assistant drew the design on the existing concrete subfloor; then subcontractor Todd Seaboch, of concrete coating company Life Deck, used spray adhesive to place a semi-rigid foam strip on the edges of the design before pouring the new concrete floor.
